John H. Taylor Jr. joined the staff of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce as Executive Director of the Delaware Public Policy Institute (DPPI) in July 2005. Taylor also carries the title of Senior Vice President. As DPPI Executive Director, Taylor leads DPPI's work on projects that provide policy makers with reliable and independent issue and policy analysis.
Taylor comes to the State Chamber and DPPI after 37 years with The News Journal -- most recently as Editor of the Editorial Pages. He has also served as Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools for Wilmington's Board of Public Education from 1968-1971 and taught English and History in England in the mid-1960s.
Taylor is a graduate of the University of Toronto. He earned a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of Delaware in 1995. Taylor is active in the community, serving on numerous boards including: the Board of Trustees, Christiana Care and the Board of Directors, William P. Frank Scholarship Inc. The United Way presented him with its Chairman's Award in 1999.
